Born in 1996 in Newnan, Georgia, Tavis Lance Mapp is a rising star in country music, known for his ability to tear up a guitar and twangy, honeyed voice. Raised in a family that played George Strait, Alan Jackson, and Merle Haggard, Tavis developed a deep love for country music from an early age. He started learning guitar at 11 and began singing and writing his own songs by 14, diving headfirst into the Newnan and Atlanta music scene. His early exposure to music and live performances set the stage for his future career, as he immersed himself in the craft with unwavering dedication.

Throughout his career, Tavis has explored a variety of musical genres, writing, producing, and playing guitar across different styles. Despite these experiences, he always felt a magnetic pull back to his country roots. This reconnection with his core influences was strengthened by discovering modern country stars like Sturgill Simpson, Tyler Childers, and Midland, whose innovative approaches reignited his passion for the genre.

On August 23, 2024, Tavis released his debut single, “Where I Like To Be,” which serves as a heartfelt tribute to his life as a musician. The song reflects both the joy of performing and the challenges of the road, from the long drives between gigs to the long nights in smoky bars. With its authentic storytelling and raw sound, “Where I Like To Be” highlights Tavis’s genuine artistry and marks the beginning of what promises to be a compelling journey in country music.
